About Us

At AVO Direct Care, we believe that getting help for your mental health should be straightforward, supportive, and centered on you. Many adults struggle for years with symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, or depression. They often feel dismissed, overlooked, or stuck in systems that do not provide the time and attention they deserve. We are here to change that.

Founded by Dr. Julie Gilbreath, a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 15 years of experience, AVO Direct Care was created with one purpose in mind: to provide compassionate, thorough, and accessible care for adults navigating mental health challenges, particularly ADHD. Dr. Gilbreath has a special interest in helping women and parents who are juggling multiple responsibilities while also managing their own neurodivergence.

Our approach is different from traditional clinics. We intentionally schedule longer visits, 60 to 90 minutes, so that you never feel rushed. You will have time to share your full story, ask questions, and leave with a plan that feels personalized and realistic. We also integrate objective testing such as QbTest to strengthen the accuracy of ADHD evaluations and treatment.

We know that mental health is deeply personal and that trust is essential. Whether you are seeking a first-time ADHD evaluation, struggling with ongoing symptoms, or needing reliable prescription management, our goal is to walk alongside you with clarity and empathy. We offer both in-person visits in San Antonio and secure telehealth options for convenience.

At AVO Direct Care, you are not just another chart or a rushed appointment. You are a whole person whose well-being matters. We are committed to helping you feel understood, supported, and empowered to live the life you envision.
